Olympic Fever in BC

The Olympic Torch passed through Kelowna in the month prior to the Winter Olympics. We headed into town to see what Kelowna would make of all this, being a quiet town in winter otherwise.

But the crowds were definitely out, bigger than even when the local Hockey team have an important game on, which is saying something :-) Actually, the crowds and vibe in town were awesome.

In the waterfront City Park, they had a big noisy stage set up which we happily avoided, instead checking out these ice sculptures carved by a local sculptor - depicting figure skating, alpine skiing, snowboarding and hockey.

And a final view from the lake edge of City Park, looking over downtown Kelowna
